Derry City 3 UCD 0
Derry City booked themselves a place in next month's eircom League Cup final against Bohemians after second half goals from Ciaran Martyn, Kevin McHugh and Paddy McCourt gave them a comfortable victory over UCD at the Brandywell.
Martyn had Derry in front on 54 minutes when Killian Brennan and McCourt combined neatly down the left to set up the chance for the midfielder to rocket home a shot from 25 yards.
With UCD defender Alan Mahon shown the red card on 64 minutes, Derry made use of their numerical advantage when Kevin McHugh added a second with a header three minutes later after Sammy Morrow had created the opening on the right.
The icing on the cake came on 83 minutes when wing wizard McCourt skipped past four UCD defenders in a run from his own half before squeezing a shot from twelve yards past 'keeper Matt Gregg.
