A suspected hit and run driver was arrested after a fatal road crash on the outskirts of Belfast last night.

A suspected hit and run driver was arrested after a fatal road crash on the outskirts of Belfast last night.

He was detained by police at a house after the driver of one of the cars involved ran away.

A 36-year-old man was killed when his car was in collision with a white BMW at Ardranny Avenue, Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

Police said a 32-year-old man who was detained at a nearby house was taken in for questioning.
