Fine Gael has received a slight boost in the last Red C opinion poll of the year.

Support for Sinn Féin is also up while Labour sees its support drop in the survey carried out for the Sunday Business Post.

Fianna Fáil is unchanged at 17%, although more people said they would vote for the party if Brian Lenihan or Micheál Martin were leader.

Political Editor of the Sunday Business Post Pat Leahy said: "The obvious thing about the Fianna Fáil leadership numbers in this poll is that either Brian Lenihan or Micheál Martin are vastly preferred (to Brian Cowen) by both Fianna Fáil voters and by voters in the electorate as a whole."
