Lobby group warn neighbours to look out for elderly

Friends of the Elderly are reminding the public not to forget their older neighbours this summer.

Friends of the Elderly are reminding the public not to forget their older neighbours this summer.

They say that older people may not be able to tend their gardens and that their houses might look empty.

They are urging people to do simple things like call in for a chat or mow the lawn.

Dermot Kirwan from Friends of the Elderly says that small gestures can make a difference.
