Haydock have been forced to an inspection for 8am tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s meeting after heavy rain at the track.

The going is currently described as heavy, waterlogged in places and it is still raining at the Merseyside venue.

Clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright said: “We have been hit by an inch of rain that was not forecast this afternoon. It would need to stop raining now really if we are to go ahead.

“It’s going to rain this afternoon though but once it stops it should be dry overnight. It is hard to be optimistic of going ahead though.”
