Official figures released this afternoon show how little money Brian Cowen has to spend in tomorrow's budget compared with previous years.

Official figures released this afternoon show how little money Brian Cowen has to spend in tomorrow's budget compared with previous years.

The Finance Minister's coffers are down by nearly €4.5bn compared to this time in 2006.

Exchequer accounts show a surplus for eleven months of the year of €1.6bn, compared with nearly €6bn twelve months ago.
