Jim Corr has taken the stand at the Commercial Court to be cross-examined by ACC Bank regarding a debt of more than €750,000.
Earlier, his lawyers said the Dundalk musician's finances were in a state of freefall but were nonetheless transparent.
Dressed in a suit jacket, jeans, blue shirt and tie, Mr Corr spent the morning at the back of the court unsure of whether he would have to take the stand or not.
His lawyers argued that the musician should not be questioned today by ACC Bank lawyers in relation to his assets and an unpaid loan of €778,000.
One reason given was that he had only received court documents last Friday.
Mr Justice Peter Kelly ruled the cross examination could go ahead, however.
Mr Corr has told the court he was under a huge amount of stress when he sold a property in the North to a friend of his sisters who he met at a party in Majorca.
He has said his former business partner had abandoned operations, leaving him struggling ever since to "put out the fires".
