The chief executive of Superquinn has resigned just days after the appointment of receivers to the supermarket chain, which was promptly sold to Musgrave Group.
Andrew Street cited concerns over the receivership process and the knock-on hardship it would mean for Superquinn suppliers.
Joint receivers Kieran Wallace and Eamonn Richardson of KPMG say Mr Street's decision was "regrettable" as it came just days after he pledged to continue to lead the business into the future.
They say they are now moving quickly to appoint a new person to lead the business.
