A man is accused of stealing a bus in India because he didn't have the fare to get home.

Abdul Nassar is said to have driven 200 kilometres after stealing the vehicle while the driver and bus conductor were on a break in Bangalore.

Police arrested the 25-year-old in neighbouring Chamarajanagar state while he was on his way home to Khozikode.

Officers claim Nassar told them he stole the bus, belonging to Kerala State Roadways Transport, because he didn't have any money to pay the fare, reports said.
