A 21-year-old man is in a critical condition after being stabbed in Limerick city this morning.

A 21-year-old man is in a critical condition after being stabbed in Limerick city this morning.

The man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the stomach at Clarina Park in Ballinacurra Weston shortly after 1am.

His condition is described as critical but stable.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the attack.
