Medical experts are warning of a potential health crisis in the North as the water supply problem continues.

Around 160 thousand litres of bottled water has arrived from Scotland and is now being distributed to families.

Some people have been without running water in the North for almost 11 days.

The Stormont executive is to meet in emergency session in Belfast later today to discuss the problem.

Doctor Peter Maguire, who is a consultant, is worried about the impact on people's health.

"When people do not have hot running water, they simply cannot clean their hands," he said.

"They are putting themselves and potentially their families at rick. It is very serious."
