Calls for FÁS to fix certification problems

Calls are being made for any certification doubts at FÁS to be corrected immediately following news yesterday that further irregularities have arisen at the state training agency.

Calls are being made for any certification doubts at FÁS to be corrected immediately following news yesterday that further irregularities have arisen at the state training agency.

Two contractors who provided courses have been referred to the Gardaí in connection with cases of potential fraud.

Youth Work Ireland said that all certification must be up- to-date and subject to regular audits.

"Certification is central to all training and education," said spokesperson Michael McLoughlin

"FÁS have to be able to stand over their certification for the good of everybody."
