Deputy government chief whip Billy Kelleher has called for the exploration of legal avenues to force all of the financial institutions to pass on mortgage interest cuts to homeowners.

Deputy government chief whip Billy Kelleher has called for the exploration of legal avenues to force all of the financial institutions to pass on mortgage interest cuts to homeowners.

A cut of a half of one percent was announced this week by the European Central Bank. A number of banks have passed on the saving to mortgage-holders, but a number have not yet done so.

Dep Kelleher said it was a "breathtaking arrogance" that, in some cases, the cuts have not been passed on yet.
