The ISEQ index was up 67.93 points at 6061.4 at 10.30am today.
Elan was up 49c (92%) at €5.84 this morning. Jury’s Doyle was also on the up, gaining 90c (6.3%) to €15.10.
Building materials group CRH was up 32c (1.6%) at €19.80.
The financials were also up. Anglo Irish Bank rose 15c (1.6%) to €9.50. Irish Life & Permanent was up 15c (1.2%) at €13.20 following this morning’s news that the group has raised €470.5m in a fundraising exercise in Asia. It was the morning’s busiest share.
Bank of Ireland was 14c (1.2%) in the black at €12.36, as it announced increased profits to the end of March this year of 13%.
AIB was up 13c at €16.45.
Following this morning’s EGM, at which Ryanair was given the go-ahead by its shareholders to purchase €3.1bn worth of new planes from Boeing, the airline’s share price was up 5c at €5.80.
