Americans are enraged at remarks made by Irish actor Pierce Brosnan.
The cool star of the 007 movies suggested that the bombing of New York's Twin Towers on September 11 will fade from people's minds, and now families of those lost in the terrorist attack have demanded an apology.
The comments came when Brosnan was discussing playing in future action movies with terrorism as a theme: "The Bond films work exclusively by themselves. People go to these movies to escape from life.
"Hollywood is going to go back to making these kind of action movies. And September 11 will fade in people's minds because there is money to be made, it's about commerce."
But one of the people behind the Families September 11 organisation, Stephen Push, has hit back: "For a public figure like him to suggest the memory of that day will fade is irresponsible. Mr Brosnan should retract that unfortunate remark and make an apology."
