Financially troubled Bohemians season endured further pain as they were beaten at home by lowly Galway United who finished with nine men.

Former Bohs midfielder Stephen O'Donnell gave Galway the lead on 41 minutes when blasting home a free kick totally against the run of play.

But as the free-kick was about to be taken United defender Rhys Meynell was shown a straight red card, just what for was unsure.

Galway doubled their lead on 57 minutes when Jamie McKenzie nutmegged Jason McGuinness to set up Derek O'Brien to score.

Defender Paul Sinnott is then also sent off for Galway on 77 minutes for a bad foul on Killian Brennan, but the relegation-threatened Tribesmen hold out for a big win.
