A man found to be carrying two handguns has been arrested at a hotel at Disneyland Paris, a French police official said.

Reports in France have said the 28-year-old was stopped around midday, with the weapons in a suitcase.

It is thought he was arrested after the bag went through a security scanner.

Reports in France say he also had bullets and a copy of the Koran.

No one was injured during the arrest, the official said.

A woman has been detained at Disneyland Paris after her partner was seized with guns and the Koran, police said.

The park, which conducts security checks at the entrance, remains open.

Employees at several hotels around Disneyland Paris said they continued functioning as usual after the arrest.

There are several hotels around Disneyland Paris, which is east of the French capital and is among Europe’s most-visited tourist attractions.

France remains under a state of emergency since Islamic extremist attacks around Paris killed 130 people in November.
