Aer Lingus set to enjoy €40m profits

Aer Lingus has enjoyed a massive turnaround in fortunes, moving into profit less than a year after major cuts, it emerged today.

Aer Lingus has enjoyed a massive turnaround in fortunes, moving into profit less than a year after major cuts, it emerged today.

Aer Lingus Chief Executive Willie Walsh confirmed the airline expects to turn a projected loss of €27m into a profit of up to €40m.

The online booking was hugely successful for Aer Lingus. 30% of total bookings are now through the Internet, according to Mr Walsh.

Aer Lingus plans to cut the cost of busines travel to further improve business.

The company is also looking for an outside investor for the company.
