Three Muslim schoolchildren were killed and seven others injured in an attack by suspected insurgents at an Islamic school in southern Thailand, police said today.
The attack happened last night at the Bamrungsart Pohnor school, a Muslim boarding school in the Sabayoi district of Songkhla province, said police Colonel Thammasak Wasaksiri.
Attackers hurled explosives into the school grounds and opened fire with assault rifles, with dozens of bullets fired into the sleeping quarters of the school, Thammasak said.
