British Airways is expected to announce thousands of lay-offs tomorrow in an effort to reduce costs and tackle growing debts.
Trade unions are expecting between 5,000 and 6,000 redundancies, on top of the 7,000 jobs slashed last year following the attacks on the US in September.
British Airways is also expected to reduce its service to Europe so it can focus on the lucrative international business.
The airline is currently losing around €3.24 each day and analysts believe that as many as 20% of BA’s 51,000 staff could eventually be let go.
