Ronaldinho linked with Gremio

Ronaldinho could be close to a return to Gremio, according to the Brazilian club’s president.

Paulo Odone tonight claimed an agreement has been reached with the 30-year-old AC Milan playmaker, but he must still secure his release from the Italian club.

“On the part of Gremio and Ronaldinho everything is already set,” Odone told RBS TV.

“What remains now is for (Ronaldinho’s agent and brother Roberto de) Assis to negotiate the release of the player from the Italian club.

“The important thing is that Ronaldinho wants to return to Gremio, where his house is and where he learned football.”

Milan could be willing to let Ronaldinho go as the imminent arrival of Antonio Cassano will further reduce his opportunities behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho.

Ronaldinho, 30, began his career with Gremio, before going on to play for Paris St Germain, Barcelona and Milan.
