Thousands of Irish children from both sides of the border are unveiling a peace banner in Dublin City centre.

The project, which was organised by the “Smile to the World” campaign, was drawn by many of the country’s schoolchildren.

After a short display here, the banner is being flown to New York to take part in the September 11 commemorations.

Organiser Kevin Farrell paid tribute to the work of the schoolchildren on the 30-metre banner.
