SPL: SFA rescind Strong red card

The Scottish Football Association have rescinded the red card shown to Motherwell defender Greg Strong on St Stephen's Day.

The Scottish Football Association have rescinded the red card shown to Motherwell defender Greg Strong on St Stephen's Day.

A three-man SFA disciplinary committee viewed the clash between Strong and Ross Forsyth of St Johnstone on video yesterday and decided there was ‘‘no violent conduct’’ from the former Bolton player.

The decision means Strong will be available for the game against Dundee at Fir Park today.

‘‘Three members of the SFA disciplinary committee have viewed video evidence and spoke to the linesman who spotted the incident,’’ said an SFA spokesman.

‘‘Viewed from different angles, there was no violent conduct.’’

Saints manager Billy Stark has conceded there was enough evidence to throw out any appeal by his club on behalf of Forsyth.
