Arts Minister Seamus Brennan has paid tribute to acclaimed folk musician Tommy Makem, who has died at the age of 74.
The songwriter and poet from south Armagh died in the United States after a long battle with lung cancer.
He led the revival of Irish folk music in the 1960s along with the Clancy Brothers, whom he worked closely with.
Mr Brennan says he was a wonderful ambassador for Ireland throughout the world.
