The Taoiseach wants to see the ban on Sinn Fein ministers attending North-South council meetings lifted, according to a government spokesman.

The Taoiseach wants to see the ban on Sinn Fein ministers attending North-South council meetings lifted, according to a government spokesman.

A Sinn Fein delegation backed the call for the ban's removal, and also called for the implementation of all aspects of the Good Friday Agreement including engagement with the decommissioning body.

Bertie Ahern is due to have talks on these issues with Tony Blair after Easter.
