A Limerick woman who went missing in the Galtee Mountains in Co Tipperary yesterday has been found safe and well today.

The 46-year-old became separated from her walking partner near a lake shortly before sunset yesterday and spent the night in a wooded area in freezing conditions and heavy rain.

She was located this morning while making her own way down the mountain and was said to be in good condition considering her ordeal.

The South-East Mountain Rescue Association, Civil Defence and Tramore Cliff Rescue had been searching for her since last night.
