Fugitive Hezbollah suspect arrested in Canada

One of three fugitives accused of providing cash and military equipment to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has been arrested in Canada.

One of three fugitives accused of providing cash and military equipment to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has been arrested in Canada.

35-year-old Ali Adham Amhaz was one of four Lebanese men indicted in March on charges of supporting Hezbollah.

He was part of a group suspected of smuggling millions of pounds worth of cigarettes out of North Carolina to fund the paramilitary group.

Hezbollah is on the United States’ list of terrorist organisations.
