Collins brings High Court challenge to payment of promissory notes

People Before Profit TD Joan Collins has brought a High Court challenge to the government's payment of promissory notes.

The Dublin deputy is hoping to have her case heard before the next €25m promissory notes payment, which is due to be paid to the EBS in late June.

Joan Collins was one of five TDs who the Supreme Court refused to allow join a similar action against the payment of promissory notes.

As a non-politician businessman David Hall was told by the High Court he didn't have the legal standing to take the case and he is still waiting for his appeal to be heard.

But Dublin deputy Joan Collins has stepped into the breach - her barrister John Rogers indicated to the High Court they want the case dealt with as a matter of urgency.

The case will come back to court next week.
