A man has been arrested following the ramming of a Garda patrol car in Dundalk.

A man has been arrested following the ramming of a Garda patrol car in Dundalk.

It is understood the driver failed to stop for gardaí just before 2am this morning, and was pursued onto the Armagh Road, where it crashed into a taxi.

A 32-year- old man from Newry was arrested at the scene and will appear at a special sitting of Ardee District Court later today.

There are no reports of any injuries during the incident.
