Progress is being made homelessness says minister

The Minister for Health, Michéal Martin, says progress is being made in tackling the scale of mental health problems amongst our homeless population.

The Minister for Health, Michéal Martin, says progress is being made in tackling the scale of mental health problems amongst our homeless population.

A new report by Amensty International has found that up to a third of those sleeping rough suffer from a mental illness.

That is double the rate of the domiciled population.

However, Minister Martin says new programmes introduced for the homeless are making an impact.
