The father of murdered Soham schoolgirl Holly Wells has praised Manchester United for treating his family “like royalty” when they visited Old Trafford earlier this week.

Kevin Wells, 38, his wife, Nicola and son Oliver, 12, were United’s guests when the club hosted Hungarian visitors Zaleagerszeg at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

“It was an opportunity for us to say thank you to Manchester Untied for all their efforts throughout the last few weeks – for the appeals during the search and for the messages of support,” said Mr Wells, speaking to his local newspaper, The Cambridge Evening News.

“Oliver was absolutely transfixed by the whole evening.

“We were very well looked after from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.

“We were even taken on a tour around the stadium and the museum yesterday morning.

“We were treated like absolute royalty and I cannot praise the club enough.”
