National parks, reserves face closure

Visitor facilities at national parks, nature reserves, national monuments and historic properties where live animals are present are being closed to the public.

The heritage service, Duchas, is suspending all unessential farm visits and staff meetings until further notice.

Heritage Minister Sile de Valera said the emergency measures are being taken to minimise the potential for foot and mouth disease.
