Former US First Lady Nancy Reagan has been taken to hospital in Los Angeles with a broken pelvis.

Former US First Lady Nancy Reagan has been taken to hospital in Los Angeles with a broken pelvis.

Her spokeswoman said the 87-year-old fell at her home last week and decided on Monday to get checked out at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

She said Mrs Reagan, the widow of President Ronald Reagan was “in very good spirits” and surgery was not required.

It is not known how long she will be in hospital.

The spokeswoman said Reagan apparently got up in middle of the night at her Bel-Air home and fell after twisting her leg.
