UCD have won their first ever game in the AIL division one.

Shannon played against the wind in a tough, gritty game which the newcomers were well prepared for.

Four penalties from Thompson and a conversion were the difference between the two sides.

Shannon will struggle to find form in the coming season if their passing doesn't improve.

A deserved win for UCD.
