The Equality Authority will today launch a booklet aimed at increasing the numbers of women and minorities in the workplace.

The proposals have the support of both IBEC and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.

Equality Authority chief executive Niall Crowley said: “The initiative is very important because it has the involvement of IBEC and it has the involvement of Congress, so the social partners are taking a leadership role in relation to equality at the level of the enterprise and seeking to set standards and provide guidance in relation to proactive approaches to equality.”
