Italians paused for two minutes of silence today to honour the victims of the London bombings.

At midday workers in public offices and deputies in Italy’s lower house of parliament stopped to observe the silence, while all seven of Italy’s terrestrial TV stations interrupted programing to show images of the aftermath of the attacks.

Airport and railway authorities also said they would hold the two-minute silence, though at Rome’s main rail station few stopped to observe the pause.
