Unions representing workers at Bord na Móna have postponed planned strike action following new proposals from the company.

Unions representing workers at Bord na Móna have postponed planned strike action following new proposals from the company.

More than 400 employees at peat stations in the midlands had voted to take industrial action as part of a dispute over payments for harvesting peat.

They claimed Bord na Móna was imposing changes to agreed payment procedures that would see their income fall by 20%.

The workers are now due to meet in Tullamore on Thursday to consider the company's latest proposals.
