Irish top list of holiday deal-hunters in travel survey

The Irish are the best holiday deal-hunters in Europe.

A survey by Expedia shows that 30% of Irish holidaymakers are likely to buy tickets for attractions in advance, compared to the EU average of 17%.

We are also among the best in the world at saving for holidays, at 77% - but the Irish spend a lot on new holiday clothes, haircuts, and body hair removal.

We are also some of the best tippers in Europe, with only 15% admitting to not tipping, compared to an average of 23% of Europeans who don’t tip.

Baggage charges are the most resented holiday expense.
