The Central Statistics Office has reported a slight fall in Ireland's inflation rate last month.
The official rate for December was 4.7%, compared to 5% in November.
The CSO says the main factor pushing up inflation during 2007 was a 15% rise in the cost of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.
The cost of food and non-alcoholic drink was up 6.3%, while education costs were up 6% and transport costs rose 5.1%.
