Cork 3-12, Kilkenny 4-17
Kilkenny came back from their first league defeat against Tipp last week with a resounding win over Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
Last year's Hurler of the Year Henry Shefflin scored goals either side of the break to put distance between the sides.
The teams were level at 1-03 apiece after the opening quarter, but Kilkenny went ahead through goals from DJ Carey and Henry Shefflin.
Joe Deane kept Cork in touch with a goal of his own - the Cats led by 2-09 to 1-06 at the break.
Deane goaled again in the first minute of the second half and it looked as if a match was on, but it was to no avail as Shefflin got his second and Eddie Brennan added Kilkenny's fourth goal in the 45th minute.
