The Italian Olympic Committee has recommended an eight-month ban for Juventus midfielder Edgar Davids after he was found guilty of taking banned substances.
The committee also suggested that the Italian Football Association fine Davids £64,000 and compel him to undergo six months of random checks when his suspension ends.
Yesterday, FIFA president Sepp Blatter said the Dutch international was suspected of taking more than one banned substance when he was suspended by the Italian FA two months ago after testing positive for the steroid nandrolone.
