Director: David Mackenzie
Cast: Ashton Kutcher, Anne Heche
Cert: 18
Much has been said about Kutcher’s change of direction in this film in which he plays serial womanizer Nikki who assumes he’s every female’s dream hunk and goes through them like the proverbial knife in butter, betraying along the way what might have been the love of his life (Heche).
He meets up with a woman who in turn might be treating him the way he has treated others in the past.
But who cares, since Nikki is such a dislikeable character who fails utterly to enlist our sympathy.
It certainly isn’t the sort of film we associate with Kutcher, but that doesn’t make his performance in any manner stand-out or boundary-expanding … or, indeed, worth watching.
