A British military leader has said the Afghan campaign could last 50 years. Admiral Michael Boyce says it is the most difficult military operation since the Cold War.

A British military leader has said the Afghan campaign could last 50 years. Admiral Michael Boyce says it is the most difficult military operation since the Cold War.

The British Chief of the Defence Staff said the war against communism took about 50 years to win and wonders if the war on terror and Afghanistan will take the same length of time.

He added that this could be the most difficult military operation undertaken since the Cold War. He went on to say that there are problems getting intelligence on the ground in Afghanistan and the allies are not getting enough.
