Around 50,000 young people are due to benefit from a new student travelcard.

Around 50,000 young people are due to benefit from a new student travelcard.

Junior Minister for Transport Alan Kelly introduced the new card, which has Leap Card capability today.

The National Transport Authority produced the card, which can be used right across the public transport system, within the Greater Dublin Area.

Travelcard users can use the card as an ID to buy special student travel tickets with major transport operators.
