Independent TD Luke Ming Flanagan has refused to apologise for his part in a conversation in the Dáil yesterday during which Fine Gael TD Mary Mitchell-O'Connor was called "Miss Piggy".

Fellow Independent Deputy Mick Wallace made the offending remark as he spoke to Deputy Flanagan and TD Shane Ross.

Mr Flanagan replied that she should be banned from wearing pink.

Speaking to Shannonside New, he said that he was referring to the fact that Mick Wallace is set to be banned from wearing a pink t-shirt in the Dáil when new guidelines are introduced.
