A brother of murdered Limerick crime boss Kieran Keane is in a serious condition in hospital this morning after being shot at his home in the St Mary's Park area last night.

Sean Keane, who is in his 50s, is believed to have been shot four times by a gunman who called to his front door shortly after 7pm.

Gardaí have arrested two men for questioning in connection with the shooting.

Mr Keane's brother Kieran, who was a major drug dealer, was shot dead almost two years ago as part of an ongoing feud with a rival family-based criminal gang.

Elsewhere in Limerick last night, a young man was injured in a drive-by shooting in the Moyross area, but it is not known if the incident was linked to the attack on Mr Keane or the internecine feud.

The shooting happened just before 9pm in Delmege Park.
