Police in the North have hit out at landowners who are providing sites for gangs alleged to be involved in a cross-border illegal waste dumping scam.

Police in the North have hit out at landowners who are providing sites for gangs alleged to be involved in a cross-border illegal waste dumping scam.

They have said rogue farmers could be heavily involved in the scam which is inflicting millions of pounds worth of damage to the North's environment.

It follows the impounding of three Lorries filled with household waste recently which were escorted back to the Republic to be handed over to Gardaí.
