Irishman arrested after alleged assault in Spain

Spanish police have arrested an Irishman on suspicion of pushing his wife down the stairs of their home in the city of Alicante.

Spanish police have arrested an Irishman on suspicion of pushing his wife down the stairs of their home in the city of Alicante.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious head injuries following the incident in the Los Balcones area of Torrevieja.

Her husband was detained after she told the emergency services how she had been hurt.
