Man injured in knife attack

A young man was seriously injured in a knife attack today.

A young man was seriously injured in a knife attack today.

Gardaí said the man, 22, was found with a serious facial wound at about 1am in Blanchardstown, west Dublin.

The man was taken to the nearby James Connolly Memorial Hospital. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

Officers were called to the Sheephill Avenue area of Blanchardstown where they found the man and, after a search, also recovered a knife.

The scene has been preserved for a full technical examination and no arrests have been made.
