Gardaí in Limerick have arrested an elderly couple as part of their investigation into the murder of a man in the city earlier this week.

Gardaí in Limerick have arrested an elderly couple as part of their investigation into the murder of a man in the city earlier this week.

The 81-year-old man and his wife, who is in her mid-70s, were arrested in the St Mary's Park area last night.

They are being questioned in connection with the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Gary Grant in the area on Monday night.

A 20-year-old man arrested shortly after the killing also remains in garda custody this morning, while a firearm and ammunition have been recovered during searches linked to the case.
